Still Alive (Apparently)

I know, I know; I'm lousy at updates. And not just to this blog, either; everything's stagnated whilst real-life gets in the way (As is its wont.)

I'm sure I'll find something else to get angry at and write a rant about, though. In the meantime, here are some tiny updates, for those who care about such things:

Klompen

Klompen has gotten the ability to use different markdown styles for source (Although I can't recall if I set it to be per-article, or overall. Overall seems like the laziest way of doing it, so that's probably how it's done. I only added the ability for different source input formats because Keyla eww'd at Markdown.) Supported formats are: Markdown (default), WikiCreole and MediaWiki. Which is two more than I care about, but hey, features.

I've bodged together a small script to make life easier when actually creating blog posts for Klompen. Very rough (Well, rougher than most of the crap I produce.), only really guaranteed to work on Linux (But should work on BSD and Solaris too. I just can't be bothered to drag up a VM to check.). Most likely won't work on Windows, but no surprise there.

It uses a few environment variables to look for where to write the created post to, and such nonsense; but doesn't support adding things like categories, or presenting a preview of the article, etc. Those will come, in time, if I can be bothered.

Bike

The bike work is almost not coming along at all. Last post, I was still waiting for the bearings to come in; they came in, I built a very crude frame and took a few runs down the street, with the result of bending two of the threaded rods I was using for axles. That was a result that I really should have forseen, but there's not much I can do about that now

The hub issue might have been fixed, but I can't test it without

rebuilding the frame (Which was dismantled when it broke apart for the umpteenth time.). I have a few ideas on how to redesign the frame in a better way, but they all hinge on being able to work on it without being either rained on, or having everything blown away.

Work Situation

Work-wise, I'm still unemployed; looking at apprenticeships in engineering, because at least there I might get the chance to have produced some tangible evidence of my efforts. (As opposed to normally, where I work a lot and nothing appears to get done; which sucks.)

To summarise: I'm exhausted. Feel like I'm getting nothing done, and I'm fed up of this. And now I'm going to bed, because it's 0-dark-00H again.
