Oil warning light turned out to be a stuck pressure switch. It's started working again now that I've taken it off and given it a crack on a solid surface, but I don't trust it; I'll get a replacement, they're not expensive. Alternator warning light works when it's connected (imagine that!).
And I've cut my manifolds down just so I can bolt them up and not be firing hot exhaust directly at all the stuff I've just painted. When my next paycheck comes around, I'll get some more stainless bends (and a couple of exhaust flexes, too. That'd be a good idea.) and make my adjustments to feed the exhaust through where it needs to go, in the direction of where the tailpipe should be.
Inlet manifold is lightly gooped and fitted, though I appear to have misplaced a few of the linkages for the throttle. (I have the pivoting bar that crosses the front of the engine, but I've mislaid the linking rods that connect the pedal and manifold bell-crank to said bar.) I'm not particularly concerned about that, because I intend to swap to using a cable. A universal cable kit, and some custom bracketry, should sort that pretty handily.
It lives, though!

From what I remember on the Goddess you could probably raise the engine by a couple of inches with no clearance issuesWell, I have pondered a change of springs to make it stand even taller...
...then again, I really would need the stepladder at that point.
Made a start on putting the clutch back in. That thing's heavy and awkward; but I got it hoisted up there and wiggled it onto the dowels. I have new bolts (3/8NC) but they're a midges too long, so I'm going to have to trim them all down; minor setback that shall be overcome. (More annoyingly, I don't have any imperial allen keys right at the moment, so for the time bean I'm just about managing with friction drive where the chamfer on the edge of the 8mm allen key sits into the chamfer on the 5/16 socket head I'll tighten them properly later.)
While I was laying on my back underneath the truck, recovering from bench-pressing the clutch up in, I noticed that I have an oil leak from the pushrod cover on the side of the engine. I'd fiddled about with the bolts on that, at the back edge, while I was hanging the coilpack bracket off them; and I've either disturbed the gasket or forgotten to retighten the bolts. Not the end of the world, just another item on the snagging list.
I've also gotten the front engine mount bolted up now, with a little finagling to get the bolts in under the foot on the front of the engine. The studs on the foot are 7/16UNF. The coach-bolts that hold the mount up to the crossmember are also 7/16UNF originally, but I got UNC ones instead because that's just how it worked out.
Additional parts have also been ordered: Exhaust bits for the manifolds, throttle cable, and so on. They'll turn up as and when they turn up; I'm hopeful that good progress will have been made by the end of this month! I'm not too far from having the gearbox back in, which will be another big moment; because that puts me even closer to the truck being mobile again. One hole to drill and tap on the top of the 'box, where I've brazed up the broken casting; and it should be go for fitting!
