Fitted the intake on Friday evening; something has definitely shifted in the process of cutting and extending the runners, because it does not fit as nicely as it used to, but I've got it pulled up tight and it should (hopefully!) be sealed properly.
Anyway, also got the injectors wired up, and snaked the throttle cable in. It remains to be seen how the throttle will behave, and what controllability is like, because the throttle is fully open by about 3/4 of the pedal travel. It might be fine, in which case I'll just add a pedal stop to prevent damaging the cable or throttle quadrant.
Fittings to finish up the fuel system have been ordered, so I can go from the nylon line to the hard stainless line with a short length of rubber hose. At which point, I'll be able to leak-check the fuel system and increase the pressure a little at a time until I'm sure I've got it all sorted. I'm only aiming for 3bar, so I'm tentatively hopeful.
Along with the fuel fittings, I've also got some other blanking plugs and bits in the same order, to let me start hooking up the idle control valve stuff. It really is amazing just how much of this project is about acquiring fittings for things.
...oh, yeah, also, with the throttle body realignment, now I have to figure out how to accommodate that in the intake system. It may involve more cutting & welding. Yay!
Anyway, if I can get the fuel system up to full pressure with no leaks, I may attempt to fire the truck up on the fuel injection setup. Quite an exciting concept. I really can say that it would have been an awful lot easier to just put a throttle-body injection unit on it and be done with it, though. But where's the fun in that!
