A surprising amount of stuff has to work to get to this point, and I am very excited. Many thanks to Trance, who assisted not only with running around after me to get video, but also with jacking the truck up to get wheels on it (then tearing 'em off again afterwards)
This is excellent. Brakes certainly seem keen!
YUP! There's something screwy in the linkage between the pedal and the footbrake valve for the assist, I think. There's a definite feeling of a break-over point, like something's binding, and when it finally 'breaks over' and actuates the valve it just slaps the brakes with a lot of assist! I've got to find a better-fitting clevis pin, and maybe relieve the pushrod a little more at the end.
Additional bonus is that the handbrake definitely works, too: At least one of those tyre-howling stops was done entirely on the handbrake.
Though while I was rolling around jacking the truck up to put wheels on, I did notice that it appears that the linings on the offside rear appear to be separating some; so I may have to find some relined shoes before it goes to test.
