Gotten a quote back from the wheels place. Seems like they've been going through a reshuffle, but their online form is now working properly.
They've presented a couple of options:
One is a slight modification to a wheel they have in stock that is very close to spec. The offset is different by 4mm, which is hardly going to be noticeable, and the nave plate is 2mm thicker, which again is hardly going to be noticeable. The only thing that does give me slight concern is that the wheel stud holes will be slightly larger diameter. This will not be an insurmountable problem, if it is a problem at all.
The other option is to manufacture a wheel exactly to spec.
Considering that they can supply the stock wheel, modified, for half the price of manufacturing a wheel, I think I know which route I'll take.
Just so super cool to see you having got to this point! Congratulations. I like near the start of the video where you're having to slowly wind the steering wheel around- such is the heavy nature of the beast. Will you be looking to add power steering later on - or is it there but not connected up?
No PAS at all! I've definitely been thinking about power steering, being a spoilt modern type, but it's not on the current priority list. There are a couple of things that would have to be overcome, chiefly of which is replacing the steering box with a power-assist box of appropriate beefiness. That's the easy part. The more annoying part is finding a good way to supply fluid to the replacement box; the least miserable option of which would probably be getting one of those electric power-steering pumps.
(Something like a corsa EPAS setup is a no-go, unfortunately. Not enough room to tuck it in anywhere, and I'd be scared it'd break the input shaft off the steering box anyway.)
