Still haven't gotten the new tyres yet. Every time I think I'm close to having enough saved up to get 'em, something else goes wrong. unamused smilie

Nevermind, I'll not be needin' 'em any time soon.

Anyway, more hole-deletes.

Back of the cab roof, with a long strip cut out at the join where the roof panel meets the rear cab wall.

Which, naturally, requires cutting more holes.

Corner of the cab, now with the long cut-out strip filled by a metal strip that is nearly bent to the right shape

And fettling bits of metal until they fit.

Back of the cab roof, with the fresh cut hole now mostly filled with welded in new metal.

Then glueing them in before they could escape.

The cab roof pictured from above, with two bolt-holes circled in chalk and annotated with 'reinforce'

Close up on one of the bolt-holes from the previous picture, now with a heavy washer welded over it so that any load from bolting things on, is spread over greater area

Both bolt-holes reinforced with large washers, and spray-painted in a silver primer

Decided to reinforce around the mounting bolts for the air-horn while I was up there. Yes, I did weld the reinforcing patches on the outside; really didn't feel up to welding upside-down.
